wisconsin speeding tickets online
traffic school question?

So i got a speeding ticket on monday. I’m going to go to court for it April 7th. The officer who gave me the ticket said that i would probably have to do traffic school and the points on my license would be lowered or dropped. I was wondering if i could take the online traffic court (it is accepted in Wisconsin and my city) before i go to court. then if the judge orders me to take it i will already have the certificate with the ticket number on it. Am i allowed to do this?

First of all, the judge decides if you are eligible for traffic school or another diversion program, the officer doesn’t. Until you hear it from the judge, do not assume it will happen.

All of the Wisconsin courts I am familiar with have online services for paying your ticket only, not for requesting traffic school or requesting a reduction in the fine and/or points. That usually requires you to see the judge in person.

You better call the court for clarification on both of these things.
